Health systems and health related behaviour change
In 2010 NICE, working with the World Health Organisation, produced this special report on health systems and health related behaviour change. It presents a review and analysis of evidence from research literature, NICE public health guidance, and NICE public health stakeholder responses about features of health and public health systems that promote and support health related behaviour change.
Supporting local investment in public health
This paper summarises a recent project carried out by NICE to develop potential new methods for determining the cost impact of - and returns on investment (ROI) from - public health interventions.
HDA publications
In 2005, NICE inherited the functions of the Health Development Agency (HDA) which produced evidence-based publications on the promotion of public health. The HDA's publications are available to download.
Referral advice
In 2001, NICE published a referral advice booklet with guidance for health professionals on referring from general to specialist services. This has been superseded by the NICE referral advice recommendations database, which was created, and is maintained, by NICE's Research and Development team. Read further information about the team's work.
