Resources for New Health Officials
The Office for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS) was established to support and improve the capacity and performance of the public health system at all levels. This crucial goal can be achieved through meaningful collaboration and partnership with the leaders of the public health system. OSTLTS works within CDC and in the field to identify gaps, opportunities for collaboration, and strategies to support and enhance public health work.
The following resources should be especially helpful for new health officials:
- CDC Orientation for New Health Officials
- National Public Health Performance Standards Program
- National Voluntary Accreditation for Public Health Departments
- Public Health Accreditation Board
- Public Health Associate Program
