Groundbreaking for the Veterinary Medical Learning Center

The ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Veterinary Medical Learning Center (VMLC) took place on November 9th, 2012. UGA senior administrators and deans, project donors, faculty, staff and students from the veterinary college, as well as representatives from the architectural and construction firms were present for the ceremony.

 

UGA Reveals Location for Bolton Hall Cafeteria Replacement

Construction on a new University of Georgia dining hall will soon begin at the intersection of Baxter and Lumpkin streets. Set back 55 feet from the streets that border it on two sides, the structure is designed so a pedestrian bridge could be added in the future, said UGA Campus Architect Danny Sniff in a Wednesday meeting of top-level UGA administrators.

Jackson Street Building Re-Opens

The University of Georgia recently re-opened the Visual Arts Building on Jackson Street which has been repurposed for the College of Environment & Design.

 

 

Solar PV at UGA Funded in Part by Students

The 19 kW solar-PV rooftop array is located on the former Visual Arts Building which has been refurbished to serve as a living laboratory for the College of Environment and Design.

 

Official Opening of UGA's Health Sciences Campus

The University of Georgia’s Health Sciences Campus held an open house on August 22nd. Guests included UGA President Michael F. Adams who hosted the event, he explained that the Health Sciences Campus was a, "Culmination of a lot of Dreams". The nearly 800 students, faculty members and staff have been relocated to the renovated campus.
