Sochi 2014 presents torch and uniform for six-month relay
Sochi organizers have presented the torch that will carry the Olympic flame on its six-month journey through Russia ahead of next year's Winter Games. The torch was displayed in Moscow on Monday by two Russian ice dancers: 2002 Olympic silver medallist Ilia Averbukh and 2006 Olympic gold medallist Tatiana Navka. Golden Riddle
Canadian freestyle skier Mike Riddle dominated the men's halfpipe in soft and snowy conditions to win World Cup gold on Friday while teammate Rosalind Groenewoud took silver in the women's event. Riddle barely made it out of the qualification round but the Spruce Grove, Alta., native was strong in the final, taking gold with a score of 91.2. Full Story.
Cleared for Flight
Five-time world champion ski jumper Janne Ahonen is coming out of retirement for a second time to be able to compete at next year's Sochi Olympics. The 35-year-old Finn, who does not have an individual Olympic medal, told Finnish broafdcaster YLE that he was inspired to return to jumping because of changes to regulations over jumping kit and equipment.
