Each year, the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario hosts the Ontario Skills Development Symposium. The Symposium brings students together to share and acquire the skills that are essential to achieving their goals and running strong and effective students' unions on behalf of their membership.

While undertaking their work in their students' unions, elected student representatives, staff and volunteers develop unique skills based on their experiences. However, the perennially high turnover within the student movement makes it necessary to develop ways to maintain knowledge and experience while helping new students overcome the steep learning curve.

Filled with informative workshops, networking opportunities and social events, the annual Symposium brings together hundreds of students from across the province to learn together, share experiences and meet each other so that relationships can strengthen the student movement for the year ahead.
