Bobby Flay joins petition for gender-neutral Easy Bake Oven -- VIDEO

Since the celebrity chef revolution of the early aughts, food has been more visible in pop culture than ever before. But despite dozens of TV programs that glamorize butchers, bakers, and sous-vide duck breast with truffle jus-makers of both genders, Hasbro still only targets girls with the commercials and packaging for its Easy-Bake Ovens — which come only in shades of purple and pink. (Not like there aren’t any boys who like purple and pink, but still: the feminine slant is clear.)

But 13-year-old crusader McKenna Pope is determined to change that. In late November, she launched a petition urging Hasbro to manufacture and promote a gender-neutral Easy-Bake Oven, all for the sake of her cooking-obsessed little brother, Gavyn. “I want my brother to know that it’s not ‘wrong’ for him to want to be a chef, that it’s okay to go against what society believes to be appropriate,” she explains. “Please, sign this petition, help me in creating gender equality, and help the children of today become what they’re destined to be tomorrow.”

She also attached a video that shows off how freakin’ cute little Gavyn is:

Anne Hathaway addresses 'Les Mis' premiere wardrobe malfunction -- VIDEO

Matt Lauer doesn’t mess around. When he greeted Anne Hathaway on the Today show this morning, the host got right down to business: “Good to see you,” he said. “Seen a lot of you lately.”

Lauer, of course, was referring to Hathaway’s major wardrobe malfunction at Monday’s Les Mis premiere. While exiting her car in a tight Tom Ford gown, the Oscar nominee accidentally flashed a crowd of photographers — who quickly noticed that Hathaway wasn’t wearing underwear.

The actress was clearly reluctant to discuss the mishap with Lauer. But after some prodding, she launched into an articulate response that skillfully turned the question on its head: “Well, it was obviously an unfortunate incident,” she began. “It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it. And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which takes us back to Les Mis, because that’s what my character is.”

Boom! Did Hathaway miss her calling? She’d make a great PR flack, or maybe a high-powered lawyer.

Mick Jagger reads 'Letterman' top 10 list -- VIDEO

With 2012 rolling to a close, the Rolling Stones are squeezing the last bit of juice out of their (well-deserved) 50th anniversary celebrations, including stopping off at the Late Show to share some decades-honed rock ‘n’ roll wisdom.

An enthusiastic Mick Jagger put the moves on David Letterman’s audience, blowing kisses and waving to the crowd. “I don’t deserve it but thank you!” he said before launching into his “Top Ten Things I, Mick Jagger, Have Learned After 50 Years in Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Among the gems: “before shouting ‘Hi, Seattle,’ make sure you’re in Seattle”; and “a good way to keep yourself entertained is to sign every tenth autograph ‘Doris Goldblatt.’” Oh, and “never take relationship advice from Phil Spector.” Noted.

Check out the video, featuring exclusive footage from backstage, below. Meanwhile, I’ll be selling my Doris Goldblatt autograph on eBay. READ FULL STORY »

Amanda Seyfried admits she's drunk on 'Letterman' -- VIDEO

How does Amanda Seyfried keep herself from feeling misérable while doing press? One word: booze.

During an appearance on the Late Show last night, the Les Mis star explained that while filming the musical, she and her castmates had to live “like monks” in order to protect their voices. That meant constant water guzzling, early bedtimes, and most importantly, no drinking. Now, though, all bets are off: “I’m pretty drunk,” she told David Letterman matter-of-factly when he asked if she’d had a tipple before coming on the show.

Wait, seriously? Yes — as their chat continued, it seemed pretty apparent that Seyfried was, in fact, pretty tipsy. When you’re that tiny and down three glasses of whiskey, the alcohol’s effects have to be fairly strong.

'New Girl': All Wreaths, No Trees

Last episode before the new year, Newbies! Kinda makes me sad…. In any case, Winston served as the Greek chorus tonight — as well as Jess’s excuse to avoid happiness (or at least regular hook-ups). He also served up one of my few laugh-out-loud moments of the night. If his penchant for singing along to Wicked has shown us anything, it’s that Winston has a flair for the theatrical. In that respect, tonight was a smash. More on that later…

Back-tracking to Jess’s avoidance of an actual relationship, I’m of two minds: Of course the shipper in me thinks it’s all a time-killer until Nick is done with the stripper whose name I can’t be bothered to remember (Olivia Munn). On the flip side, the feminist in me thinks, Shouldn’t she get a little some-some while she’s waiting? Dilemmas, Newbies! While you ponder them, let’s get started.

'Don't Trust the B' and 'Dancing With the Stars' are a match made in bitchy mirrorball heaven

Planet Mirrorballus is still aliiiiiiiive! James Van Der Beek — TV’s James Van Der Beek — faced off against the Real Dean Cain in the hardwood rectagon on tonight’s Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23. That’s a huge mouthful of extra cheese, but it totally worked, because when does extra cheese not?

James’ Dancing With the Stars arch rival Dean Cain got to dance with real-life pro Karina Smirnoff, while James — who had difficulty contending with his original boozy, strung-out partner on last week’s episode — met his bedazzled match this week in new partner Valentina (Shanti Lowry). Sadly, after a decent dress rehearsal that was VERY Girls Just Want to Have Fun Final Dance-Off (Dawson was Janey Glenn and Superman was Natalie Sands), James stumbled during his cha cha with Valentina. He’d been drugged by June’s mom of all people, via a Chinese tea with “messed up radish people” on the package.  READ FULL STORY »

Girls‘s Shoshanna and Parenthood‘s Ryan are coming to a stage near you, if you happen to be in Midtown New York City.

Zosia Mamet and Matt Lauria are set to headline MCC Theater’s Off Broadway production of Really Really, a play by Paul Downs Colaizzo that premiered last season in Washington, D. C. David Cromer (Off Broadway’s 2009 Our Town) will direct.

The play takes place the night after a wild college party, when questions begin to arise about ambitious student Leigh (Mamet) and rugby player Davis (Lauria). The truth of what happened between them, of course, is more complicated than it seems.

Previews for Really Really begin Jan. 31; opening night is set for Feb. 19.
