Salaries rise at merged blood bank, even as revenues fall

OneBlood Inc. was born in part out of the excesses of its predecessor in Orlando. But nine months into its existence, the operation has yet to offer statewide price reductions for the blood it collects from donors for free. Salaries, meanwhile, are climbing and revenues are dropping.

The poorest Americans would nearly starve if it weren't for fast-food dollar menus and other cheap, processed foods. We've heard this so many times we accept as fact the idea that obesity and diabetes are so common because eating a fresh, well-balanced diet is just too expensive.

GAINESVILLE -- No. 2 Florida overpowered No. 7 South Carolina, claiming a 44-11 win over the Gamecocks in the Swamp. The win over the Steve Spurrier-led South Carolina sets up a big Florida showdown with No. 11 Georgia next week in Jacksonville.
