TDG Archive

[TDG Overview] [TDG Symbols] [TDG Solutions] [Submit a TDG] [TDG Archives]

In the December 2009 issue of the Gazette, readers were informed that tactical decision games (TDGs) would be returning to the magazine. With the assistance of Maj Gregory A. Thiele and the students of the Expeditionary Warfare School’s (EWS’) Advanced Warfighting Seminar, TDGs are back.

While the titles of some TDGs may be familiar to readers, the contents of the TDGs are different. This particular set of TDGs takes place in Afghanistan; names of locations will be familiar to most of our readers.

AB-8B CAS in Iraq/Afghanistan

I am writing book 2-3 in a series of 3 on the AV-8B (1-AV-8B Units of Desert Shield-Desert Storm-Osprey) and am seeking information on USMC Harrier II Operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am seeking articles, and contacts with pilots, FACs and ground force personnel willing to discuss the contribution of the AV-8B.

The Changing Face of War: Into the Fourth Generation

I am trying to find the article, The Changing Face of War: Into the Fourth Generation, by William S. Lind, Colonel Keith Nightengale (USA), Captain John F. Schmitt (USMC), Colonel Joseph W. Sutton (USA), and Lieutenant Colonel Gary I. Wilson (USMCR), Marine Corps Gazette, October 1989, Pages 22-26. This groundbreaking work must be brought to ling in today’s environment. I need a link to it.
