Kapiti, Wellington and Nelson

A brief period of morning showers with a southwest change, then fine.

Canterbury and Marlborough

Morning cloud, with a few showers about the Kaikoura Coast, then fine.

Buller and Westland

Showers, clearing this morning, but a few developing again in the evening.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland; Scattered showers, especially in the south, with snow to 500 metres. Showers clearing from Otago later in the day.

Chatham Islands

Occasional showers.
