The Joan Wakelin Hon FRPS Bursary 2012

Oliver Woods was awarded the 2012 Joan Wakelin Hon FRPS Bursary at The Society's awards ceremony on 6 September.  Eleri Griffiths, Rajan Zaveri and Claudia Leisinger were shortlisted.

The Bursary offers £2,000 for the production of an overseas photoessay. The winning photoessay will be published by Guardian News and Media and The RPS Journal.  Details of next year's Bursary will be available in the Spring, 2013.

Neil Hall was awarded the 2011 Joan Wakelin Hon FRPS Bursary at the Macallan 2011 Royal Photographic Society Awards Ceremony on 8 September at the Royal Society. Maiju Torvinenn and Maja Daniles were shortlisted.

Yevgenia Byelorusets won the Joan Wakelin Hon FRPS Bursary in 2010. Other semi-finalists were Jonathan Hyams, Bharat Choudhary and Simon Brown.

Environmental Awareness Bursary - Closed on the 31st May 2012
The Royal Photographic Society in partnership with The Photographic Angle is offering two 1-year bursaries to support a photographic project that will promote environmental awareness. The bursaries will provide £3000 to assist with travel expenses, photographic equipment and other project-related costs. There are two awards available for applicants aged 16-25 and 26+ years.
