Dr Mirko Spiroski is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Macedonian Journal of Medical Sciences. He is a graduate of the Skopje Faculty of Medicine (1972), where he later obtained his MSc (1978), and PhD (1989) degrees. He is the founder and Director of the Institute of Immunobiology and Human Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje and acts as a tutor of the Medical Scientific Club "Acad. Dimitar Arsov". He introduced several subjects in the curricula at the Faculties of Medicine (Immunology and Human genetics), Natural Sciences (Immunochemistry with basic immunology, Biochemistry-3, Immunogenetics), Physical Education (Genetics in sport), and in the Master of Sciences postgraduate program in Public Health (Public health genetics). His research interest is immunology, but he has also published in the fields of molecular anthropology and human genetics.  He was Secretary general and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal Godishen zbornik na Medicinski Fakultet Skopje, and Editor-in-Chief of the Macedonian Journal of Medicine.

 

Jean Gogusev, MD, PhD - EDITOR IN CHIEF

Dr. Jean Gogusev is a specialist in clinical oncology and pathological anatomy. He works at present on a tenured position as senior investigator in Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, Paris, France. After his graduation from Faculty of Medicine (1972), he has obtained his MSc and PhD collaborating and under supervision of leading WORLD scientists in the field of immunology and cancer biology, such as the Nobel Prize winner Prof. Jean Dausset and Prof. Carlo Croce. In his fruitful scientific carrier, he has learned the state of the art of molecular technologies at NIH, Jefferson Cancer Institute and at Harward Medical School. Since 1974, Dr. Gogusev has published 59 papers in peer-reviewed prestigious scientific journals with a total of 118 scientific papers and one scientific book in the field of AIDS (1986). In 1998, d-r Gogusev received the  Major Prize Award at the 16th World Congress of Fertility Societies and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in San Francisco, USA. He is an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR, member of the Histiocyte Society, member of the World Endometriosis Society and member of the French Medical Association.

 

Dejan Trajkov, MD, PhD - DEPUTY EDITOR IN CHIEF

Dr Dejan Trajkov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in 1989. He obtained his MSc degree at the same university in 1999. In the period 1991-1997 Dr Trajkov was employed at the Institute for Experimental and Applied Physiology and then moved to the Institute for Immunobiology and Human Genetics, where he holds a research fellow position. In 2001 he completed his training in transfusion medicine and in 2002 started sub-specialization in immunology. He published numerous papers and participated in various scientific projects. He participated in the organization of the 2nd Congress of Immunology of Macedonia as a Secretary general and is currently a Secretary of the Macedonian Society for Basic, Clinical Immunology and Allergology. Dr Trajkov is a member of the Board of Macedonian Scientific Society for Autism and was awarded a Diploma from the Macedonian Medical Society in 2000.

 

Aleksandar Petlichkovski, MD, MSc - DEPUTY EDITOR IN CHIEF

Dr Aleksandar Petlichkovski is a research fellow at the Institute for Immunobiology and Human Genetics in Skopje. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in 1996. He obtained his MSc degree in the field of molecular medicine from the University in Skopje in 2002. Dr Petlichkovski started specialization in internal medicine in 2000. He is author or coauthor of more then 30 scientific papers, published in scientific journals. In 2003, he received a research fellowship from the European Academy for Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) for research in the field of asthma. In the period 2003-2005 he was a research fellow at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in the National Research Center in Monterotondo in Rome, Italy, where he studied B cell signaling in hematological malignancies. He is a member of several professional societies.

 

Slavica Hristomanova, MD - SECRETARY GENERAL

Dr Slavica Hristomanova is working at the Department of Immunobiology and Human Genetics since 2005. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in June, 2004. After her graduation, she worked for the Special Surgical Clinic “St. Naum Ohridski”– Skopje (2004). She is a member of several professional societies.  During her diverse education and training, she attended numerous international seminars, workshops and congresses.

 

 

 

Natasha Sekovska - TECHNICAL SECRETARY

Natasha Sekovska is pursuing a degree at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University in Skopje and is an administrative assistant at the Institute for Immnobiology and Human Genetics.

Ivo Spiroski graduated in 2010 at the University "Ss Cyril and Methodius", Faculty of Design and Technologies of Furniture and Interior. At the present he is attending Master of Sciences at the same Faculty in the field of Furniture and Interior Design. Two years (1991-2001) he was Director of the company Medis, Skopje. He was founder and Editor-in-chief of the journal Igrach (Player).

Dr Katarina Stavric, graduated in 1987 at University of Skopje “Ss Cyril and Methodius”, Medical Faculty Skopje, Macedonia. From 1990 she works as a medical doctor at University’s Children Hospital, Medical Faculty – Skopje, and from 1997 as Pediatrician, at Department of Immunology. In 2002, she obtained his MSc degree. In 2006 she was inaugurated with title of primaries from the Ministry of health. From 1999 she works as a teaching assistant of pediatrics. The objectives of her interest are clinical immunology and allergy, as well as education of medical professions. She has performed professional visits of several paediatric clinics and educational workshops as a part of her continual professional education. She published numerous professional papers in national and international medical journals and 3 books. She was involved as a researcher in two national projects, and 3 international projects from the domain of immunology and allergy. She was also involved in several working groups of Project in improving the health education preparing curriculum for Primary health care, Faculty of pediatric nurses and state exam. From 2005 she becomes a member of the Educational board in Macedonian association of doctor responsible for the continual medical education of doctors.

Dr. Meri Kirijas graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in 2008 and shortly after that started working in the Department of Immunobiology and Human Genetics. Dr Aleksandar Senev graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in July, 2009. After his graduation, he started working at the Department of Immunobiology and Human Genetics.
