The rising cost of a cup of tea

The wholesale price of black tea has risen 41% since the beginning of 2012.

Simon Bower, managing director of tea and coffee importers Pollards Wholesalers, explains that even though there may be some increase, he does not think it will "all be passed on" to consumers.

Even if the wholesale price was to double, he told the Today programme, it would add only 20p to a pack of 80 tea bags.
