In this clip Lerato tells us about one highlight in her career.

Lerato began her journalism career in 1999 at South Africa’s state-owned broadcaster The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). She eventually served as an anchor for the channel’s daily news show News at 10 and also fronted the weekly show, The Ambassadors.

Prior to joining the BBC, Lerato served as a Senior Business Anchor for CNBC Africa when it launched in 2007. In the course of her career, she has interviewed notable political figures, including Nobel Peace Prize laureates Kofi Annan, Wangari Maathai and F.W de Klerk.

In this video, Lawrence discusses two great things about working for the BBC World Service.

Lawrence worked for several years as the culture correspondent for BBC World Service, before presenting the World Today daily news show. Among his recent assignments were politics in Havana, economic catastrophe in Las Vegas and film in Ouagadougou.

Lawrence has worked across BBC radio news and television, as a producer and presenter on a wide variety of channels. Before working joining us, Lawrence worked in in local radio, taught and studied art. He lives in London.

Nuala joined the BBC in 2009, presenting and producing World Have Your Say on BBC World Service.

Prior to joining the BBC, Nuala worked for New York’s flagship public radio station, WNYC, for nine years, serving as an Executive Producer for The Brian Lehrer Show, which won a George Foster Peabody award for excellence in broadcasting. She was also the founding producer of Brian Lehrer Live: Where Web Video Meets the Issues.

She was born in Ireland, and has worked in Italy, New York and now London.

Having worked for various programmes on BBC World Service, including Europe Today and Newshour Julian, since 1998, has been one of the voices listeners wake up to when tuning in to the World Today.

Julian joined the BBC in 1988, starting out serving a BBC apprenticeship in the French Service, regularly reporting on and from francophone Africa. He is married with three children and lives in Toulouse, South-Western France where he commutes from to London every week.

In this video Bola describes how she feels "privileged" to be from the African continent.

For the past fifteen years, Bola has presented BBC Network Africa, a breakfast programme broadcast every weekday airing African news, sport, music and features. She also presents and produces the African news and current affairs programme, Focus on Africa. She co-produced The Story of Africa, a twenty-one part narrative history of the continent broadcast on BBC World Service.

Bola has a keen interest the arts and in gender issues. Hailing from Nigeria, she was raised in both London and Lagos. Bola studied Peace and Conflict studies in Northern Ireland and is married with three children.
