London 2012 tourism boost turns into a slump

Olympic events generally attract record crowds and London 2012 is no exception.
However, in previous games, any predicted boost to the economy through tourism simply has not materialised.
Can Britain buck the trend, and do as well financially as it has done with gold medals?
