The gents of Aerosmith definitely have something of a reputation. A reputation for wailing guitar riffs, as well as for owning the radio waves with each new single. They’ve got a penchant for rocking hard on stage (and off!), and for dreaming big when it comes to casting their music videos. Earlier this week, they debuted their new Kill Bill-meets-Whip It clip for “Legendary Child,” —their first video in nearly eight years— and sure enough, it’s led by an all-grown up Alexa Vega (who, as a much younger girl, starred in the Spy Kids franchise!). A band may be getting older, but their taste in heroines remains ever as young and as beautiful. Hotties like Alicia Silverstone, Eva Mendes, and even Steven’s own daughter, Liv Tyler, have been starring in their videos for years. So, which of their video vixens reigns supreme? Join along as we break it down for you!
Set-Up:Spy Kids’ Alexa Vega is charged in this “story of America’s greatest rock band” with protecting the band’s legend against men in black and ribbon dancers and a scary clown-like character. And in roller skates, no less!
Defining Moment: In the video’s climactic scene, she takes-out man in a Damien Hirts-esque bejeweled mask to protect the little, black coffin that houses – presumably! – Aerosmith’s storied legend.">
Set-Up: The video for "Hole In My Soul" again finds Aerosmith testing the limits of technology and adolescent love, this time with a nerdy high school boy who engineers himself a copy of Mendes, the beautiful girl who ignores him at school.
Defining Moment: The first to be cloned, her great reveal – replete with American flag bikini – is a grand, scientific moment. And when she leaves him for another guy at the party? Well, another important scientific revelation.">
Set-Up: Mrs. Timberlake-to-be plays the robot lady of Steven Tyler’s dreams in this futurist, post-9/11 video. She spins in a far-off space room, beckoning Tyler away from the techno and buzzing world he’s in.
Defining Moment: She in a bikini, he shirtless, the two together polished in silver, the two spin together in a place where the sky is bluer. And Biel, she heroically manages to keep a straight face even in the shadow of Tyler’s silver cowboy hat.">
Set-Up: Mila, our heroine here, is entirely unimpressed by the grandeur world of draped beds, buffets and circuses that she lives in. The fire breathers and the cathedral ceilings – she is just so “jaded,” and wanting of more.
Defining Moment: Asked by writing on her mirror, “what do you want?” She writes, “To feel.” And off she is sent to find the forest from her book where, done up like a fairy, she sheds a single tear. Feelings!">
Set-Up: The Chris Isaak Show’s Kristin Dattilo stars in the David Fincher directed video for the famously dark song about a sex abuse victim out for revenge. Dattilo leads as the titular, “the little bitty baby” Janie. The video begins with Janie laid out in a white bikini on a white beach towel, her father eyeing her from his lounge chair nearby, ends with him on a stretcher and her being put into a police car.
Defining Moment: After taking him down easy, she spells out “LOST” on the floor with the broken glass and other detritus of her revenge. “Run away, you got to run away from the pain…”">
Set-Up:Alicia Silverstone stars alongside Stephen Dorff and Lost’s Josh Holloway. Alicia Silverstone plays the same rebellious beauty, wise with her ability to tease, in each of the three times she appears in Aerosmith’s videos. In this first, she goes off on a bender after catching her boyfriend – who is played by Stephen Dorff – cheating on her.
Defining Moment: A broken down car, belly button piercing and stolen purse later, we meet Silverstone at the edge of an overpass bridge. Dorff arrives at the scene, and after throwing him a knowing smile, she falls back towards the ground far below. A rope is revealed mid descent to catch her, and when she is dangling safely above the traffic she looks back up at Dorff and gives him the finger.">
Defining Moment: When the motorcycle breaksdown, and then Alicia hikes up her skirt a bit and hails down a plane. It swoops down to pick the two up and their motorcycle adventure gets upgraded to a sky diving adventure. And what does your virtual girlfriend do for you? ">
Set-Up:Alicia leads the way for Liv Tyler in this third and final Aerosmith video appearance, driving the blue mustang and teaching by example how to use her good looks to win over whoever needs to be won.
Defining Moment: Stripped down from her school uniform to a white tank top, she throws her hands up off the wheel, flips her hair, and drives she and Liv to freedom.">
Defining Moment: Liv dwarfs all Aerosmith video girls past and present by winning a pole dancing competition by channeling her father's sexy, signature dance moves. This is the moment where Steven gets to see what he has grown: a cunning rock star like himself. Aww!">
