Canada's Olympic and world ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir will continue to train in Canton, Mich., despite the recent firing of one of their coaches. Igor Shpilband, who had coached Virtue and Moir in Michigan alongside Marina Zoueva for the past eight years, announced earlier this week he'd been fired. Heading To Seattle
The Seattle area has been chosen to host this year's Skate America, the first stop on figure skating's Grand Prix circuit. Skate America will be held Oct. 19-21 at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash., just south of Seattle. It will be the third time the Grand Prix has been held in Washington, and Everett (2008) drew the largest crowd ever for the event while Spokane (2002) had the second-largest. Full Story.

Akiko Suzuki finished second in the free skate and first overall in the women's program on Saturday as host Japan won the International Skating Union's World Team Trophy. Canada was third with 42 points. Full Story.
