Siem leads French Open by one stroke at halfway mark
Marcel Siem of Germany overcame wet and windy conditions plus a lightning delay Friday to shoot a 3-under 68 for a one-stroke lead after the second round of the French Open. Siem holed five birdies to offset a double bogey and totals 6-under 136. Full Story.(Photo: Stuart Franklin/Getty Images)
Leading The Way
Suzann Pettersen shot a 4-under 68 to take the U.S. Women's Open lead at 5 under, and Michelle Wie made a big move to get into contention Friday at Blackwolf Run. Wie had a 66 to close within a stroke of the lead. Cristie Kerr, the 2007 Open winner, also is a stroke behind Pettersen.

Veteran Skills
Vijay Singh and Jeff Maggert sent reminders that they're still able to compete with the younger crowd. Singh had his best round in six months, shooting a 7-under 63 on Thursday in the Greenbrier Classic to take a one-stroke lead over Maggert, Jonathan Byrd and Martin Flores -- and leave Tiger Woods eight shots behind.
