How to select the correct key words for your campaigns
Choosing the right key words for a product campaign on the Internet is a very important decision because on that depends how much relevance is it going to have on the user´s search. Keeping this in mind is essential to know the best ways to select the combination of words that can assure a great number of visits.
First of all, is imperative to keep in mind three factors: seasonality,
competitiveness and geographical variation. An excellent tool for
understanding these issues is Google Insights, because it provides a
worldwide view of the words that are actually being searched on Google,
giving you the possibility to filter by time, place and category. With
this information, it would be easy for you to know what are the people
interested in, and what is the competence focus.
On the second place, you should think about some variables on your key
words selection. The direct references (exact match), are not the only
ones that can bring you more visits and consumers interest. So you can
check what other variables and negative key words that could increase
your relevance on the digital market.
In the third place, we can mention that it is significant the influence
that the mobile devices are having all over the world, and consequently
you should consider it for making your decision. The searches in these
particular devices have some distinctive features, like the words used
are shorter, include more spelling mistakes, etc.
Of course, all this things are only applied if you use the browsers the
way they are now. But what happen if they change their search ratio? It
is crucial then, not only to keep informed about any modification on the
functioning of Google, but also to try its beta versions to see what
things can be coming in the future.
The last advice is to be always updated and modify everything every time
is needed. The consumers change all the time, and so do the algorithms.
You should periodically revise the keywords selected and compare it
with the actual tendencies in order to keep your products always well
positioned.
