News Store allows you to search Fairfax publications and ASX company
announcements from 1990 to today. It's free to search, however a
small charge applies if you want to view the full text of an article.

News Store Features
News Store has been upgraded to give you much more powerful search functionality and improve the level of service we offer our users. We have recently improved the sign-up and credit-purchase process for users of News Store, and also continue to build a better search service with a greater amount of content, updated daily.
The website has a range of useful features, including:
Browse Archives function
The new Browse Archives function gives you the ability drill down into very specific categories to easily refine your search. This feature displays hand-picked search categories for you to quickly access key topics. Your searches can then be refined further:
- browse within a sub-category. For example, browse Economy, and then refine it further by choosing Monetary Policy
- search by keyword within a category or sub-category. This features helps you to really drill down to the topic you're researching. For example, searching for "gold" within Economy gets 23 articles with information about the mining industry and its effects on the economy. However, searching for "gold" from the Quick Search gets more than 200 articles, with the top ranked ones about the Gold Coast. When searching for "gold and economy", the first article is by David Gold talking about the "new economy".
Advanced Search
The new "Advanced Search" function gives you the ability to clearly define your search, to make the search faster and more meaningful. You can now search by:
- ASX code - you can now narrow down to company, keyword, ASX code
- any combination of Fairfax newspapers or magazines
- section of the newspaper that an article appeared within
- content type - for example, choose whether you're looking for an interview, timeline, float or opinion poll
Company Search
The new "Company Search" function also means faster searches on Australian companies. Users can now:
- Look up the ASX company code for Australian companies
- search company announcements
- search information on a particular company from a choice of publications
