Top TV Shows

As lovers of all things nostalgic, we were particularly excited this week to announce the creation of MTV's Retro Mania, a summer time block filled with old episodes of "The Hills," "Laguna Beach" and "Daria." While fans were thrilled to hear that their weekday mornings would soon include the likes of Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, it was Miss Morgendorffer and her dry wit that people were most pumped about seeing again. Here's a small sample of what Daria fans had to say about her return:

Remote Control:
"Very cool that MTV is bringing Daria back! I got the complete Daria DVD set recently also." -- Blake

"There should be new Daria episodes where Daria and Jane are living in an apartment while Daria is attending college in New York and Jane is working as an artist!" -- Joe

"It would also be spectacular if they would re-air the Daria marathons, with the bridges between each episode." -- Parker

Beau Mirchoff, Ashley Rickards and Brett Davern come together on the red carpet at the Paley Center.

The "Awkward" Season 2 premiere screening might have been a glitzy red carpet affair, but plenty of the show's cast members are familiar with acting out the plight of the less-popular crowd. For this reason, Ashley RickardsBeau Mirchoff and crew seemed like the perfect guides to help welcome the cast of MTV's new comedy series, "The Inbetweeners," premiering Monday, August 20.

Following a crowd of high school students stuck on the social ladder's middle rungs, "The Inbetweeners" will serve as a televised love letter to anyone that's ever slapped his or her forehead in embarrassment (i.e. all of us). Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright and Neil Sutherland are friends striving to survive the gray area between jocks and squares, but are generally just humiliated in the process, and the show's actors were on hand at the Paley Center for Media last night to introduce the discomfort to come.

+ Check out some photos of both casts at the screening, and take a look at this video clip of "Inbetweeners" actors Joey Pollari and Alex Frnka breaking down the upcoming series and their characters.

It's almost inconceivable that there could ever come a day when Johnny Bananas, MTV's most infamous pot-stirrer, starts acting his age. It might very well never happen, but the dude recently hit the 30-year mark, so the gap is widening. The illustrious "Challenge" vet bid farewell to his twenties this week, and judging by the photo he tweeted from his celebratory bash (that's him in the Lil Jon mask), he's happy to put adulthood on hold awhile longer.

And now let's see what the young MTV-ers who are maturing were up to...

Following the most recent episode of "Teen Mom," Maci jumped online so she could clear the air regarding Ryan's new girlfriend. She wasn't jealous of Dalis; rather, she was just annoyed that he failed to mention her existence before inviting her on a vacation. And Catelynn had a bit of exciting news to share--she and Tyler are headed to New Orleans for a whole month. Can't wait to hear more about it, guys!

Snooki has a run-in with the pavement while strolling in Seaside.

Cavorting around the beat-up Seaside sidewalks in heels is a hairy undertaking for anyone, but for a meatball with a predisposition for falling, it can be downright dangerous. Kids, it might be time for Snooki to shave a few inches off her height.

While taking in the beautiful summer air in platform wedges yesterday, the expecting "Jersey Shore" castie lost her footing. Luckily, Snooks caught herself halfway down and used her right knee to brace for the impact, but we have to imagine the experience was a little unsettling. (And just when we thought she had retired her artillery of stilettos in favor of sensible sneakers, too!) The fashionable mama-to-be may still have plans to give birth in sky-high spikes (so fierce!), but perhaps this spill means it's time for her to bring the slippers out of storage...at least when she's upright.

The expecting couple poses on the red carpet at a New Jersey lounge event.

Millions of people tuned into E! last summer for its two-part, four-hour-long Kim Kardashian wedding extravaganza, and as ridiculously over-the-top as the ceremony turned out, fans were fixed to their television sets 'til the very last second.

Now, let us make clear that we have no inside info whatsoever--we're just curious bloggers who value our audience's opinions--but...if MTV were to air Snooki's nuptials, do you think you'd watch? The expecting mom and soon-to-be-wife of Jionni LaValle recently spoke to the "New York Post" about whether she'd be open to the concept: "I mean, I film pretty much everything already, so it only makes sense to film the wedding," she said. "I would love that, to have my fans, like, see my wedding and stuff like that." (Yesss!) 'Course, planning for the big day has taken a back seat for now, as Nicole is seven months pregnant and has cut out alcohol. "Obviously, I want to drink champagne at my own wedding," she commented about wanting to deliver before walking down the aisle.

While pregnancy was just a pleasant surprise for Snooki and Kristin Cavallari, "Challenge" vet Diem Brown is holding onto the hope that having children is even possible. It's likely that her second ovary will need to be removed soon as consequence to her ongoing battle with cancer, she told People, but, as expected, the "Exes" second-place finisher is not going to take the news lying down.

Diem told the magazine she plans to freeze her eggs before surgery so that motherhood might still be an option someday. "I know the risks I might be taking with hormone shots as a current ovarian cancer patient," she said. "For me, something 'normal' is...knowing in my heart I have exhausted every fertility preservation option possible." Diem also noted she's one of the first current cancer patients to experiment with egg-freezing, but that she's OK with being a case study so that women who face her plight in the future might benefit from it.

+ Please keep Diem in your thoughts, and leave her more love and encouragement in the comments.

No, Jenni doesn't have an undiagnosed case of Tourette's Syndrome. When she bluntly asked her two realtors whether they "f**k" during tonight's "Snooki & JWOWW" premiere, she was responding to a dare doled out by her firecracker sidekick, Nicole. "Me asking if they had sex was a bet," the less brazen of the BFFs tells Amy Paffrath in the below clip from our MTV.com exclusive after show. "We were bored," the itty-bitty mama-to-be chimes in, "because they were so quiet and reserved."

If you haven't learned by now, a meatball marinating in boredom is a dish best served raw...

When Jenni decided to put in one last hurrah and live with her pal, Snooki, she thought she was signing up for a 24/7 party filled with late-night dancing on bar tops, drunken walks home at dawn (heels in hand, naturally) and possibly a bit of housecleaning to keep the Jersey City roaches at bay. Her boyfriend, Roger, was uneasy at the thought of his girl sharing a roof with the "Gremlin" ("It's gonna be crazy," he said about the proposed living situation), but little did either of them know....

Once the ladies weeded out the ugly residences and found the gutted firehouse of their dreams during tonight's "Snooki & JWOWW" premiere, Snooks dropped two bombs on her bestie that completely flipped her expectations upside down. Instead of stocking the kitchen pantry with Red Bulls and premium vodka, Nicole would be using it to store her pre-natal vitamins and wedding planner. Eeks.

Every child has certain things they'd prefer to never discuss with their parents: sex, partying, the bed-wetting days. For Jenni Farley, it's moving in with Nicole Polizzi. While the tough girl-turned-mama-hen isn't necessarily nervous to break the news to her father that she and Snooks will be co-tenants of a new Jersey City apartment, she knows for sure the idea of "Snooki & JWOWW" probably won't go over so smoothly.

JWOWW meets her father for lunch and a confession in the Episode 1 bonus scene below, and though the guidette sports her best "I'm your favorite daughter, right?!" smile, the guy clearly has his misgivings about the arrangement. "You know how Nicole is," Mr. Farley says while projecting his discomfort into a one-man game of thumb war. Neither are aware that Snooks is pregnant yet, though, and maybe the general concern--that she turns into a "Gremlin" with a sip of alcohol--will dissolve once they find out that won't be an issue.

Ready your novelty body cast and accompanying neck brace: "Awkward" Season 2 is finally within reach! By this time next week, fans will only be hours away from the series' second go-around, and for the VIPs heading to tonight's L.A. premiere, the "Carefrontation" letter whodunnit will be solved before the stroke of midnight. 'Course, most of us didn't receive an invite to the screening (it's cool, guys, we hate glamorous parties anyway), so we've got some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage coming your way.

You might be chillin' in Bismarck or The Dakotas, but the Internet will easily get you into the live chat section of The Paley Center for Media's celebration and accompanying cast Q&A at 11 p.m. ET. Make sure to head over to Paley's website to submit a question, and Tweet #PaleyLiveLA to keep up with the discussion! Most importantly, check back with Remote Control later on for photos and video from the big event.
