Nicholas Shaw BCom LLB CA PositionDirector ProfileNick Shaw has worked in the accounting profession since 1995 in both public practice and commerce. Nick has a solid foundation of accounting knowledge having begun his career training in the audit and assurance division of Deloitte before working in commercial accounting roles at Honeywell and George Weston Foods. From 2001 Nick’s focus has been on the SME market, firstly as the finance director of two successful start up businesses, then as a chartered accountant in public practice, including as a partner at an established Sydney based firm. In 2009 Nick became a founding director of Shaw Downie. Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1998 and is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia. Nick is also an active member in several industry groups and regularly attends industry seminars. David gained valuable tax experience at Price Waterhouse, then PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to assisting with the implementation of the GST at a global investment bank. He has worked with SMEs, investors and high net wealth individuals since 2001, including as a founding director of a private wealth management company and as a partner in an established Sydney chartered accounting firm. In 2009 David became a founding director of Shaw Downie. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Queensland. He has been a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants since 1999, is a Registered Tax Agent and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
