“At this time in our history, NCSL is more important than ever. States need to be heard in Washington, D.C.—an idea widely supported by both parties.” Massachusetts Senator Richard Moore (D).

“We have Republicans, we have Democrats. We’re not talking about one side, we’re talking about both sides—and I want to hear both sides because eventually we are going to debate both sides of the issue in our chamber.” Georgia Senator Don Balfour (R)

“Just in juvenile justice we’ve saved over $200 million in Texas following something that the state of Iowa did. We learned it here and we took it home.” Texas Senator Letitia Van de Putte (D)

“It is huge for legislators to be able to have an opportunity to come discuss the issues, especially the issues that the federal government is imposing on us.” Representative RaeAnne Kelsch  (R)

“The most important opportunity is to be able to network with people who have similar responsibilities in other places.” Michael Adams, Director of Strategic Planning, Virginia Senate

The National Conference of State Legislatures serves all legislators and staff and is the bipartisan voice of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths and territories.
