Picture hanging on sloped wall
I have a modified A-frame home with sloping knotty pine walls. How do I hang pictures on the walls? The prior owner nailed the bottoms to the wall and it looked really stupid. Help!

how about making an area that you build out the angle and make it flat to display several items or make individual built out areas just to display art or photos

Quite frankly, I don't like the idea of art hanging on a sloped wall. My mind can't get around that it is going to fall off. You could position a console against a sloped wall and lean the art pieces against it. Put the art on the walls that are not sloped and on table tops.

I would make a big deal out of it and hang eyelets on the wall and on the tops of the (black) frames.

Then I would wire the two together. It would hang loose at 90degrees totally ensuring that everyone has noticed my client's awesome sloped walls!!! And ensuring that they go home wishing THEIR walls were sloped!

I would pull the sofa off the wall some so that it's in line with the art.

Good luck!!!!!!!! A frames are so fabulous (is it an A frame?)!

I like the idea of the eyelets, but I would have 4 eyelets and hang the items on the same slope as the wall.

Hanging them just off two eyelets will create strange shadows. I think you emphasize the sloping walls by hangin flush to the wall.

Nice job on the wall finish.

HI -- Love A - frames, but the sloped walls were never meant to have things hung on them. It just always looks wrong and silly. The straight internal walls is where you put your pictures etc. If you have the room , you could display a big picture on a standing easle. That is always a good look for this style of house.

I agree that I wouldn't like to see pictures hung on the walls but if you did then double French cleats would hold them solidly where you wanted them.

I'd place a sofa table behind the couch with plants and tall sculptures or pottery. I'd also replace the small table lamp with a large floor lamp.

I would hang wall sconces inbetween the beams. It would give you extra mood lighting and give texture to the room.

I like the idea of sconces. Also, I would rotate the sofa to the right so that the back isn't to the kitchen. Opens up the room.
