The SRT (Street and Racing Technology) team has good news for fans of America’s ultimate track-ready sports car – the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR-X – by announcing the race schedule and rule changes for the newly named SRT Viper Cup Series presented by Pennzoil Ultra.

Jeff Courtney Wins Second Viper Cup Race at VIR

Alton, Va., Sunday July 10, 2011 – Jeff Courtney started second behind polesitter Ben Keating but dogged him through the first three laps, keeping close until Keating ran wide coming onto the main straightaway letting him through to a lead he held to the end of the race. A.J. Morgan also took advantage of Keating’s mistake to claim second place. Keating recovered from his wide turn excursion to claim third place and remained there to the finish.

Keating Takes Dodge Viper Cup Race at VIR

Alton, Va., Saturday July 9, 2011 – Ben Keating continued his dominance of the Dodge Viper Cup series by taking the pole by nearly one-and-a-half seconds and leading all the way to the race victory. Jeff Courtney qualified on the front row, but let Ted Hughes through into second after a bad start. He was back ahead of Hughes by lap two, but by that time Keating was a hundred yards ahead and flying.

The fifth and sixth rounds of the 2011 Dodge Viper Cup Series are set to take place this weekend (July 9th-10th) at the historic Virginia International Raceway. Dodge Viper Cup Series Gears Up for Season II

Ten races are on tap for the 2011 season of Dodge Viper Cup series, kicking off May 13-15 in Sebring, Fla.


There will be a few changes for the 2011 season – all good. For starters, Dodge Motorsports has reduced entry fees from $1400 to $800 per race. Post-race payouts will now be distributed to the top 10 drivers in each race (up from 5 in 2010) with prizes ranging from $5000 going to first place ($4000 cash plus $1000 in a Mopar voucher) to $300 for 10th place ($100 cash and $200 Mopar voucher).
