The FOX News iPhone application is a mobile application built specifically for iPhone and iPod Touch with software version 3.0 or higher. The application provides a way for you to stay tuned to FOX News wherever you go.
With the FOX News iPhone application you can receive FOX News Alerts, read the latest news stories, stream live video, listen to FOX News Radio, browse through photo galleries, watch the latest FNC clips on demand, and more. Be sure to flip your iPhone into landscape mode to view FOX News Desktop, a brand new way to browse content.
The FOX News iPhone application can be downloaded through the iTunes Store here. You must be using software version 3.0 or higher to install the application.
FOX News does not charge for the application at this time. Please note that in the absence of a Wi-Fi connection, the FOX News iPhone application uses your iPhone’s cellular network connection to access and download content. Please check with your carrier to see if you will be charged for usage.
Yes, you can read the latest news from the last time your device was connected to the Internet. Please note that some features including desktop mode and live and on-demand video require a network connection and will not be available when you are offline.
The menu is displayed at the bottom of the main screens of the application. You can configure the buttons to include your favorite sections of the app. To customize the menu, click “More,” then tap “Edit” on the top right corner of the screen. On the “Configure” screen, you can drag and drop icons into the menu to rearrange the application navigation.
At this time, streaming FOX News Channel is not available through the FOX News iPhone application. However, you can watch The Strategy Room Live from 9AM-4PM ET as well as some live breaking news videos. On demand video clips are also available.
The Video section includes both live streaming video and the latest on demand video clips. The Strategy Room is available live weekdays from 9AM-4PM ET and live breaking news videos are available as the news breaks. The quality of the video is dependent on your wireless network and signal strength. If you do not have a strong enough connection, you may only have access to the audio stream.
FOX News Desktop is a brand new way to browse content. To view FOX News Desktop just rotate your phone counter-clockwise into landscape mode. Top stories, videos, and your local weather will cycle through FOX News Desktop every few seconds (or you can swipe through yourself). Watch as the actual FOX News Channel ticker scrolls across the bottom of the screen. Click on the silver bar at the top to turn on FOX News Talk Radio and listen to the radio programming live as you browse through the app.
To turn on FOX News Talk Radio, simply select the “More” button on the menu at the bottom of the screen, select “Audio” and then hit play. A “Now Playing” button will now be accessible in the upper right-hand corner as you browse through the app so you can easily return to this page to pause the audio or view the schedule.
You can also turn the radio on through FOX News Desktop. Simply, tap the silver bar at the top of the screen and hit play.
To make sure you are subscribed to FOX News Alerts click on the “Settings” icon on your iPhone home screen. Then select “Notifications.” Confirm that “Notifications” are set to “ON” and then select FOX News from the list of applications to set whether you’d like to be alerted with sound.
To save a news story, video, or photo tap the star icon on the page where you are viewing the content. You can then review your saved content later by clicking on “More” and selecting “Favorites.” Click “Edit” to remove content from your Favorites.
You can share FOX News content via email, Facebook, and Twitter. Just click on the ‘share’ icon on article, photo, or video page and select one of these options. You will be prompted to log in to Facebook or Twitter if you choose to share through these platforms.
