La Rioja Attractions

Located northwest of Cordoba is the city of La Rioja, capital of the province of the same name. The city is located in a beautiful area with surrounding mountains. Of interest in La Rioja are a number of museums and historic religious buildings. Of particular note is the late 19th Century Cathedral with a fabulous facade, twin towers and dome.

This is an arid region of Argentina and summer temperatures in La Rioja can be very hot.
