Well that was f@#$ing awesome. HBO even rope-a-dope'd us by starting the new Game of Thrones trailer with footage we had already seen (Cersei entering the Iron Throne room, the burning of the Seven on Dragonstone, Daenerys standing around like an idiot), along with Varys' riddle about power to Tyrion that we saw earlier this year. 15 seconds in, we found ourselves thinking "Is this even new?" S#!% YEAH! Last night when all the cool kids were watching basketball or celebrating a thoroughly mediocre year of films (yeah we said it), HBO dropped the first full length Game of Thrones Season 2 trailer aptly titled "Power and Grace" on the interwebs. So we spent 5 hours watching it on repeat, first at normal speed, then at half speed, and eventually just imported the whole thing into Final Cut where we went frame by frame taking this bastard apart just so we didn’t miss anything. And we do this all for you! Anyway, let’s break down what we see: [MINOR SPOILERS PER USUAL...]
The most immediate thing that grabbed our attention are all the scenes seemingly coming from the third book, A Storm of Swords. Like Daenerys razing cities, though this could just be her pwning the Undying Ones and not all the business with the Unsullied (speaking of which, stoked for those guys to show up). Also Robb Stark telling his mommy (we’d recognize the back of that head a mile away) that he loves someone?? Robb falls in love…but not until the third book, we’re positive. Does this mean the "Red Wedding" goes down in Season 2? Considering it happens in the second half of A Storm Of Swords doubtful, but who the hell knows? Read More...

'Space Battleship Yamato' Gets A New Trailer For Japanese DVD Release

I feel like I've been thinking a lot lately about formative anime titles—those gateway shows and movies that got me and a generation of current fans hooked on the form back in the early and mid-80's. The U.S. version of Leiji Matsumoto's Space Battleship Yamato wasn't especially one of those titles for me (although I was vaguely aware of it as a kid), but as I got older, I came across more people for whom this was the show that got them into anime.
Well, the series got a reboot of, of sorts, for the big screen, making its debut in April as Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and it's got a trailer. More details after the jump.

Exclusive: Get Your First Look At 'The Aquabats! Super Show!' In This Trailer

The long-lived Orange County band the Aquabats are getting their own show in March on the Hub and we've got the trailer right here. A live-action/animated musical hybrid featuring the quintet will be coming to the network, executive produced by the band's frontman/vocalist Christian Jacobs who'll also be starring as the band's lead, The MC Bat Commander, who'll be joined by the rest of the band in traveling the country, fighting monsters, and playing a few songs.
