Introducing the Google Play artist hub

Your direct route to selling and sharing your music with fans. Create your store page, set your own prices, and sell your original songs.

NEW! Get magnified by Google Play, only for artist hub users

You've always wanted a bigger audience. We can help with that.

Magnified Artists by Google Play is our new program to shine light on independent artists who are using the artist hub to distribute their songs through Google Play. We look at a combination of editorial input, sales performance, shares on Google+ and other fan engagement data to determine which artists to magnify.

Through the program, we want to provide career-boosting opportunities to deserving artists, by offering interview and promotional opportunities, editorial reviews and performance slots at high profile events, just for musicians distributing through the artist hub. With the support of partners like T-Mobile and Red Light Management we've been able to provide Magnified Artists with opportunities to perform around events like Sundance and the Grammy's. Our next promotional opportunities will bring artists to events like Coachella and SXSW.

Learn more about how we decide which artists will receive these promotional opportunities or read about the first set of Magnified Artists.

Your music, now on Google.

Go direct-to-fans with the Google Play artist hub.

Build your store page, set your own prices and sell your original songs. Google Play users can access their store purchases instantly on any device.

You don’t need a record deal to get started; just a Google account and your original music (with all the rights).

If you already work with a record label or distributor, this isn’t the route for you. Check with them to see if your music is already being distributed through Google Play. Visit the Help Center if you have questions about this.

Set your prices, keep the profit.

With Google Play you set your own retail prices for albums and tracks. You can quickly make your own promotions, like limited time price reductions, or make some tracks available as album-only purchases. The choices are yours.

You keep 70% of what you take in, paid to you monthly.

One-time fee, unlimited albums.

Google Music has a one-time $25 setup fee for each artist page and keeps a 30% commission on your sales. There are no other fees -- not for uploading tracks, creating albums, making changes to existing albums, editing your artist page, or anything else within the artist hub.

You have the power to select and change what you sell, including new demos, live recordings and unreleased tracks.

Your page, your presence.

Every artist or band has a page within the Google Play store to music fans find your music. The store page includes your bio, photo, links and the original music you have available for sale.

Once you’ve set up your account and activated your artist page, you can edit your information so that fans can learn more about you. Learn more in the Help Center.

Sell on YouTube

All artist hub users can link to their YouTube channels from their Google Play store page, so fans can find your videos. If you are a YouTube Partner, the songs you offer through Google Play can also be promoted next to your video content. Visit youtube.com/partners for more.

Plus, when any fan purchases your song or album from Google Play they will immediately be able to share a free stream with the friends in their Google+ Circles. This lets your fans brag about their purchases and encourages their friends to buy your music, too.
