Nestled within a Neo-Classical style villa in Rieter Park is the Rietberg Museum which showcases the impressive collection of Baron Eduard von der Heydt.
The Uetliberg Summit is the highest in the Albis ridge, standing at a height of 2858 feet. From the top, breathtaking views of the Berenese oberlands, Black Forest region and the Santis can be seen.
The Art Gallery in Zurich houses an extensive collection of antique and contemporary artwork. The bronze sculpture known as the "Gate of Hell" is particularly worth seeing.
From the Central Station and the Paradeplatz there are tram services to the Zoo, one of the finest in Europe (opened 1929), with more than 2,000 animals.

From the Römerhofplatz a funicular 1,328 m/1,453yd long serves the Waldhaus Dolder (548 m/1,798ft), a hotel from which it is possible to continue on foot to the Dolder Grand Hotel, the golf course, the artificial ice rink and the swimming pool with wave-making equipment.

From the Stadelhofen station in Zurich another electric railroad, the Forchbahn, runs southeast via Forch to Esslingen in the Zurich Oberland. There are many marked trails in the countryside around Forch.

This camouflaged fort is the only modern Swiss fort. Built between 1937-39 to prevent the Germans from crossing into Switzerland, its interior remains remarkably well preserved and contains unique firearms display.
