Accessibility Information

Conner Prairie wants everyone to be able to experience the prairie. To make that possible, our modern Welcome Center is fully accessible to handicapped guests.

Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge, and wheelchair assistants and interpreters for the deaf receive general admission at half price. Most, but not all, of the historic buildings are accessible by wheelchair. However, buildings and walkways are authentic to the 19th century, which may impose certain restrictions. Stone paths in the historic areas may be difficult for wheelchair travel. For those buildings that are not wheelchair accessible, staff will bring the experience to you. Please see our Accessibility Guest Map for specifc details.

Handicapped parking is available close to the Welcome Center and The Overlook Room.

Conner Prairie Understands Challenges

We are proud to be leading the effort to offer families with children
with autism, as well as other developmental challenges, a local attraction
with a focused and friendly environment.

Staff trained in autism awareness
can be identified by an autism ribbon pinned to their shirt collars.
Autism-friendly locations, or quiet rooms with sensory kits, are
marked on this map with an autism ribbon. These locations are also
signed for ease of identification. Conner Prairie will do what it can to
diminish sensory factors/elements. We do understand behaviors
may result and we hope you’ll find these quiet rooms comfortable.
Although we cannot guarantee you will have quiet rooms to yourselves,
we hope you will use them as needed.

We continually strive to make our guests’ experience exceptional. If you would like to provide us feedback during your visit, please stop by the Ticket Desk on your way out to speak with a Guest Services staff member.
