Though the first stage in Chapter I is more or less a training stage, there is no reason to take it lightly as you can die if you’re not careful. The first order of business is to take out a horde of Lesser Lycanthropes. Use the Direct Attack on those that are directly in front of you, and use the Area Attack when surrounded. Mix it up a bit by throwing Daggers or Grab the enemies to finish them off.

After taking out a few waves of Lesser Lycanthropes, a Great Warg will appear -- mash whichever button appears of the screen to break free from its initial attack. After escaping the Great Warg’s clutches, the rest of the fight comes down to long range attacks, blocking and dodging. Block its heavy close range attacks and always be ready to dodge its unblockable attack.

Once the Great Warg is down to its last bit of health, it will draw power from the full moon. After the cut-scene, use the log at your side to finish off the beast. Wait for its eyes to glow bright red and use Grab to hold onto the log. The Great Warg will jump and impale itself on the log when timed correctly.
Trial Completion: The trial for this stage requires that you defeat the Great Warg with three surviving villagers. In order to do this, it's best to stick close to the Lesser Lycanthropes and Great Warg so their attention is always on Gabriel and not the villagers. Versus the Great Warg, from close range be ready to block normal attacks and of course dodge the unblockable attack. |
