Hello Music Fan,

What you have before you is the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work by volunteers at our station. It's the London Music Archives (LMA). CHRW has been working on this project for the past three years and the work continues regularly. This is a living library of music written, recorded, performed and produced by Londoners.

94.9 CHRW, with the help of the  Ontario Trillium Foundation and the support of the University Students' Council  at the University of Western Ontario, has been hard at work encoding local independent music to MP3 format. The reason? Since our first day of broadcast (October 31, 1981) CHRW has been supportive of local music and musicians and the champion for those willing to write and commit their music to tape.

The London Music Archive is a comprehensive library of music created in our city and listening area but it's by no means definitive. We've gone as far back as we've been able in order to accomplish the goal of being as inclusive as possible. The site already contains over 5000 songs and it's growing - but we need your help. If you are a musician or you have music in your personal collection that should be included in our library, please mail it to us at the address below. Send us a CD copy or, if you can encode the material to MP3, copy it to a CD and then send it to us. That makes our work easier and we can concentrate on doing more.
