First Images of Dwayne Johnson on the Set of Michael Bay’s PAIN AND GAIN

Production is currently underway on Michael Bay’s (relatively) small dark comedy Pain and Gain, and just the other day we got our first look at Rob Corddry and Mark Wahlberg on the set. Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson star in the Fargo-esque true story of two bodybuilders who got caught up in an extorition ring and kidnapping scheme that went terribly wrong. We got a glimpse of Wahlberg doing some harness-enhanced wall sit-ups in the first batch of set photos, but today we get a great look at Wahlberg and Johnson together. We already know that the two have proven comedic chops, so I’m eager to see how they play off of each other. If the goofy costumes are any indication, we may be in for a really fun ride.

Bay making a Coen Brothers movie? This sounds like Fargo with steroids. It will be interesting to see if he can pull it off but it will probably be dreadful.
A sequel to Twins? Big guy and a little midget. What a joke. DOA
It’s weird. Little Wahlberg seems to get smaller as you look at the picture. Can you put lifts inside sneakers? HIgh heel sneakers won’t help. 5 foot seven next to six foot five….so, Bay has to tilt the cam this way and that to get them both in a frame…poor little Marky, his whole image a big guy is exposed for the myth it is. Should have stayed in with the other little guys like Ben Foster, etc.
I can’t believe i’m actually excited for a Michael Bay movie. This looks totally fun, i like the premise, the fact that the story takes place in Miami, the actors involved and the first pics actually indicate that this could end up as an rather enjoyable flick.
Did Johnson loan Wahlberg some roids?
The Rock is on his way to becoming the biggest movie star on the planet. Who woulda thunk it.
Even though this is set in Miami, this movie really does remind me of classic Michael Bay….like the good old Bad Boys days. This is what he should continue to get back to.

Wahlberg’s forearms don’t match up with his biceps. It is kind of really disturbing.
