Jacobowitz said that in addition to the large zoom, the P500 offers "good image quality, speed, and a well-rounded feature set." He also liked the design and layout of the camera, especially the barrel-mounted zoom trigger and manual controls thumb wheel. The P500 "can handle low-light shooting with aplomb," Jacobowitz said.
