Narrative Profiles from the American Community Survey are back -- with new content and updated format. These profiles are available for cities and towns, counties, states, metropolitan and micropolitan areas in the 2009 and 2010 1-Year and 3-Year datasets. Narrative Profiles will be included with the 5-year ACS products beginning with the 2008-2012 5-year estimates to be released in 2013. The 2006-2010 American Community Survey 5-year estimates are now available for every state, county, city, town, place, American Indian Area, Alaska Native Area, and Hawaiian Home Land, as well as for census tracts. Block group estimates are available only in the ACS Summary File. This is the first ACS data release to include estimates for tribal census tracts and tribal block groups.   more »

The Census Bureau has finished releasing the Summary File 1 National file. The National File includes detailed data on age, sex, households, families, the population in group quarters, and housing units. Also included are counts for many race and Hispanic or Latino categories for the nation and geographies that cross state boundaries.   more »

Data from the 2010 Annual Survey of Manufactures (ASM) are now available! The ASM provides sample estimates of statistics for all manufacturing establishments with one or more paid employees. Some key statistics include employment, payroll, supplemental labor costs, cost of materials consumed, operating expenses, value of shipments, value added by manufacturing, detailed capital expenditures, fuels and electric energy used, and inventories.   more »

The 2008-2010 American Community Survey 3-year estimates are now available for cities, counties, and other geographic areas with populations of 20,000 or more. The 2008-2010 ACS 3-year data products are the first multiyear release to include the topics of Marital History, Veterans Service Connected Disability Status and Rating, and Health Insurance Coverage. In addition, this is the first multiyear release to include the modified Disability questions.   more »

The Census Bureau released new information on same-sex couples from the 2010 Census including the number of married couples and a set of preferred estimates of same-sex spouses and unmarried partners at the national and state levels. These estimates were developed to account for data capture errors that make it difficult to measure same-sex couple households. 2009 Nonemployer Statistics data are now available! Nonemployer Statistics are released annually and include data about businesses without paid employees who are subject to federal tax. The 2009 Nonemployer Statistics data cover 21.1 million firms, and include 18.7 million sole proprietorships, 1.4 million corporations and 1.0 million partnerships. Nonemployer Statistics provide the only detailed information on the total number of nonemployer businesses and receipts earned down to the county level.   more »

2009 ZIP Code Business Patterns data are now available! ZIP Code Business Patterns summarizes business data for separate employment size classes by hundreds of North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industries and about 40,000 ZIP codes nationwide.   more »

These data provide the only detailed annual information on the number of establishments, employees, and first-quarter and annual payroll for most of the 1,100 industries covered at the national, state and county levels. The National Summary File of Redistricting Data contains selected geographic areas previously released in the 2010 Census Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) Summary Files. 2010 Census Redistricting Data is now available! According to Public Law (P.L.) 94-171, we must provide redistricting data to the 50 states no later than April 1st of the year following the census. As a result, we are delivering the data state-by-state on a flow basis in February and March. Each table will provide summaries of population totals, as well as data on race, Hispanic origin and voting age for multiple geographies within the state, such as census blocks, tracts, voting districts, cities, counties and school districts.
