Icy conditions on the way

Heather Joy

Drivers are being warned of further hazardous driving conditions to come as sub-zero temperatures will continue to create icy conditions on Britain’s roads.
“Yellow” weather warnings have been issued across much of the country, including London, the East, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North East. The Met Office has issued additional warnings for East Anglia and the East Midlands with three – six cm of snow expected to fall over the next three days.
"Freezing fog will be returning across central England overnight, with temperatures getting down to -10C (14F),” according to Allison Richards, a spokeswoman for the Met Office.
The RAC recommends that drivers should have an emergency kit with essentials including blankets, snacks, and warm clothing with them.
