2010 Census

2010 Census Summary File 2 — This file provides detailed demographic information from the 2010 Census for up to 331 detailed race and ethnic groups down to the census tract level, adding a new layer of detail to the population and housing topics previously released from the census. The statistics are being released on a state-by-state flow basis and are offered on embargo. For more information on the release process, visit the Summary File 2 press kit. (Scheduled for release through May 2012.)

The Asian Population: 2010 — This 2010 Census brief provides a portrait of the Asian population in the United States and discusses its distribution at the national level and for regions, states, metropolitan statistical areas, counties and places. This brief also discusses the size and growth of detailed Asian groups, such as Asian Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. The brief contains tables and figures (including maps) that display regional, state, metropolitan, county and place level patterns. Economic

2011 4th Quarter Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenue — This summary shows quarterly tax revenue statistics on property, sales, license, income and other taxes. Statistics are shown for individual state governments as well as national estimates of total state and local taxes, including 12-month calculations. This quarterly survey has been conducted continuously since 1962. (Scheduled for release March 22.)

Economic Indicators — The Census Bureau releases statistics that provide monthly, quarterly and yearly updates on key measures of the nation's economic condition. Upcoming releases include new residential sales, advance report on durable goods manufacturers' shipment, inventories and orders and quarterly service survey. Profile America — Facts for Features

Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month (May) — We celebrate the contributions of Asian/Pacific Americans to our nation with a host of statistical information on this group. Statistics are included for Asians as well as Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders covering demographics and businesses. (Scheduled for release in early March.)

Cinco de Mayo — “The Fifth of May,” a national holiday in Mexico, has become a time to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture. This edition presents a wide array of statistical information about the population of Mexican origin. (Scheduled for release in March.)

Older Americans Month (May) — To celebrate the contributions of our nation's approximately 40 million 65-and-older residents, data are presented on their demographic characteristics, such as their levels of income and education, living arrangements and labor force status. (Scheduled for release in March.)

Profile America and Al Día (Spanish) for February and March — Upcoming segments include picking up spares in “Bowling” (Feb. 29) and rolling the dice in “Monopoly” (March 15).

New on the Census Bureau Web Site: Explore the American Community Survey Form — A new tool allows users to explore the ACS form question-by-question. Click on a question to learn why it's included in the survey. Demographic

Education Products — Feb. 23 — Five sets of statistics addressing education were released simultaneously. This includes Educational Attainment in the United States: 2011, a collection of national-level tables from the Current Population Survey that present statistics on the highest level of education achieved by various demographic characteristics. The other sets released include Educational Attainment in the United States: 2009, a report that shows the monthly employment rates by educational attainment during the last recession; Field of Bachelor's Degree in the United States: 2009, the first report to examine results from the American Community Survey question that asked bachelor's degree holders to indicate their specific major; What It's Worth: Field of Training and Economic Status in 2009, a report that examines the relationship between educational attainment, fields of study, and eventual occupation and earnings; and a working paper on GED program recipients. Profile America — Facts for Features

Women's History Month (March) — Feb. 22 — In commemoration of this annual observance highlighting and celebrating the varied and historic accomplishments of women, this edition provides statistical information on topics such as earnings, education, business ownership, voting, occupations, military service and marriage. 42nd Earth Day: April 22, 2012 — Feb. 22 — This day, intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment, is recognized each year by more than 1 billion people in nearly 200 countries, making it the largest civic observance in the world. This edition of Profile America Facts for Features includes Census Bureau statistics pertaining to energy and the environment. Special Edition: 1940 Census Records Release — Feb. 22 — On April 2, the National Archives and Records Administration will make individual records from the 1940 Census available to the public for the first time. To commemorate this occasion, this edition compares notable 1940 Census facts with corresponding information from the 2010 Census. Included is an early look at plans for the 2020 Census.
