Meetings and e-Learning

State legislatures are setting the agenda for action in the 21st century, so NCSL's meetings provide the nation's experts on all the important issues of the day, such as state finances, education, health care, transportation, criminal justice, welfare and more. These meetings give you the opportunity to meet with legislators and staff from across the country, share your ideas, learn about theirs, and tailor policies that work for your state and your constituents.

The Fall Forum of NCSL's Standing Committees examine federal issues and how they affect the states, as well as  develop NCSL's advocacy positions before Congress and the administration. Like legislatures, the Standing Committees are structured to allow free and open debate, and every one is welcome to attend.

The annual Legislative Summit is the largest and most substantive meeting of its kind in the nation. The event brings together legislators, staff and others interested in public policy experts for informative sessions on critical problems, talks from nationally renowned speakers and training developed specifically for the needs of today's lawmakers. Legislators also vote on policies here that  guide the advocacy efforts of the Conference.  Make plans today to join your legislative colleagues this year  in Chicago, Ill., August 6-9, 2012. More
