Sledding Fails

It's a good thing snow offers extra padding. Otherwise these snow-day fails might be a million times less hilarious.

Snow days offer tons of fun. You can have snowball fights, make snow angels, and even build giant snow forts that make your bedroom look like Alcatraz. But they also offer many opportunities for soul-crushing pain. For instance, you could go sledding. While it may seem harmless to rocket down a hill without any real form of control, sledding can often lead to generous doses of schadenfreude for the rest of us. All it takes is gravity, hubris, and a camera. Here are some of our favorite sledding fails.

Human Head Vs. Light Pole

The lifeguard at the swimming pool never let you go headfirst down the water slide for a reason, as this poor fellow finds out the hard way. Unfortunately, the guy hits his head so hard, he might have knocked the lesson out before it even had a chance to make an impact.

Traffic Collision

Wait for it...

No argument in the world can make pulling a sled with your car sound like anything more than a bid for next year's Darwin Awards. But of all the ways this stupid stunt could have gone wrong, this is perhaps one of the most unexpected. We just hope that poor doggy made it out okay.

Reporter Flips Story

The Internet is filled with funny videos of news reporters with clever ideas for on-location reporting ending up in embarrassing disasters. This is one of those videos.

That he gets hit by a sled is slightly predictable. That he gets hit so hard that he totally does a ninja flip is rarefied territory, however, and makes this one of the funniest sledding fails we've ever seen.

Double K.O.

They say comedy is repetition, and it's true. If seeing a kid get owned by a sled makes you laugh, watching him get up only to be slammed a second time is likely to give you an asthma attack.

After the intial shock wears off, this video is worth a rewatch just to analyze how amazingly fast that kid recovers after the first hit. He's like a young Rocky Balboa!

Lady Vs. Car

If your sledding hill ends with a bunch of parked cars, the smart money says someone's going to get owned. And that's exactly what happens in this rather painful clip. Seriously, it's pretty painful. So painful it's almost a 1980s public service announcement against the horrors of sledding.
