Ask DC comics writer/movie mastermind (aka CCO) Geoff Johns to explain the approach taken on the upcoming Green Lantern movie and you'll hear the title Star Wars dropped on several occasions. The comparison is apt. GL is a comic book movie, but it's also a sci-fi, a drama, a space opera and a movie whose scope looks to blow it's predecessors' out of the water.

Green Lantern isn't a man, it's a universe.

A few months ago, we had a chance to visit the set of Green Lantern for their final day of shooting, where we met the brave Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), the top dog Green Lantern Sinestro (Mark Effing Strong), Geoff Johns and more. Production Designer Grant Major (the LOTR trilogy) gave us a behind-the-scenes look of the art and design of the movie, which, while we can't reveal too much now (you'll have to wait for the entire report closer to release!), comforted our inner-fanboy.

Green Lantern is a comic chock full of weird aliens, unfamiliar planets and ring-produced, light constructs (Look - I made a giant green hammer!) and thankfully, the movie appears to have gone all out. The picture is overflowing with imagination.

We'll have the full report and all the details in the future, but for now, check out two brand new pieces of production art to hold you over until The Guardians grant you with your own ring!
