Feb. 13: Western men win gold, women win silver at OUA squash championships
Bookmark and Share
WATERLOO, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's squash team continued its dynasty of dominance, winning its 27th straight OUA squash title with a clean sheet, winning all their matches on Feb. 13.

The Western men won all their games by 3-0 scores except the No. 1 seed matchup between Mustangs rookie Brian Hong and McGill's Ben Marien which Hong won 3-2.

Western's women were unable to repeat as OUA champions, losing in the OUA final 4-2 to the Queen's Gaels after defeating McMaster 5-1 in the semifinal. The Mustangs fought valiantly to defend their title, but the favourite Gaels emerged with the gold. Ironically it was a former Mustang, Heather Lamb, winning in straight sets at No. 2 to put Queen's over top to win.

More details to follow on Feb. 15.
