Katherine Scott, DVM, DACVIM, completed her bachelor of science in zoology at the University of Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University for her veterinary training, and went on to Kansas State University to perform a small-animal internship. In 2004 she started a small-animal internal medicine residency at Texas A&M University, which she completed in 2007. During that time, Scott was in charge of treatment for Stump, the Sussex spaniel who took the honor of “Top Dog” at the 2009 Westminster Kennel club dog show. In 2006, Stump was diagnosed with a severe body-wide infection that is often fatal. He spent 13 days at Texas A&M University's Small Animal Hospital recovering from his illness. Since that time Scott has remained at Texas A&M as a faculty member in the small-animal internal medicine and emergency/critical care departments. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Scott's professional interests include feline medicine, gastrointestinal diseases, and infectious disorders in small animals. She has presented on a variety of topics to local and state veterinarians and enjoys working with and teaching veterinary students.
