CBR TV @ NYCC: Patton Oswalt on DC Comics & “The Heart, She Holler”

Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt stopped by the CBR Tiki Room at New York Comic Con to discuss the upcoming six-night miniseries event, “The Heart, She Holler” on Adult Swim. The programming block’s first ever minisieries is a satirical soap opera set in a very twisted version of the deep south.

CBR’s Jonah Weiland then reminded the performer about the first time he saw Oswalt perform, which featured an on-stage cameo by Martin Sheen, before moving on to Oswalt’s love of the American south.

Finally, Oswalt addresses the recent controversy over DC Comics’ hiring of Nielsen to survey buyers of DC’s New 52 titles at a Los Angeles comic shop that prompted him to stop buying DC Comics titles entirely.

what a douche. im sorry, but its a grudge against the nielsan guy not dc.

  • Pat Hall

Its true but its the idea of this guy that he’s mad at. Let him it out on who ever he wants. I know I would be upset if that happened to me. I don’t know if I would take it out on DC though. No reason to call him a douche.u00a0

  • Dan

Some individual pollster, probably making minimum wage and just trying to get by, makes a mistake in judgement and Mr Important holds a grudge against DC? What a douche.

  • Steve

    @ Marco…you’re an ignorant twat.u00a0

  • duh

You’re probably the guy who buys $3.99 comics even though you think it is too highnnn

  • Scud

I love everyone in here calling Patton a douche and “Mr. Important” because he wanted to take ten minutes out of his busy day to buy/read some comics without getting harassed. DC hired those people that’s why he’s mad and its not like he said he’s swearing them off forever he’s just mad right now he even said he’s interested in Shade. Normally I wouldn’t care about stuff like this but Patton seems like a cool guy and he’s hilarious.

  • Trey

People don’t listen, all they heard is “I’m boycotting DC” and they lost their minds then started a Marvel/DC fan war, plus he’s wrote for DC in the past.n

As I said when this first happened, Patton Oswalt declaring he wouldn’t buy DC comics because of a Nielsen survey guy is something that John Byrne would do. Do you really want to do that?
