Happy December Clone Wars fans! Hope you're not stressing out too much about what gifts to buy this Holiday season! Have I told you all my favorite Star Wars joke??? What did Darth Vader say to Luke on Christmas Day? "Luke, I felt your presents!" CLICK HERE FOR WOODSY LAUGH Ok, I thought that was funny. Anyway, back to this week's Clone Wars episode "Slaves Of The Republic."
Check out this clip of Anakin and Obi-Wan going under cover:
Pretty much ever since Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ seminal comic book series Watchmen was released, there have been rumors of a sequel. And now, with those rumors rearing their ugly heads again, and fans in an uproar, I’ll chime in with my two cents: I think a Watchmen sequel is a great idea.
I mean, with caveats, of course.
The current batch of rumors – which haven’t even been addressed by DC Comics, of course, is that the Watchmen sequel will actually be a prequel of sorts… Four linked mini-series, each focusing on a separate member of the Watchmen before the events of Moore and Gibbons’ book. Furthermore, rumor states, Darwyn Cooke - of DC: The New Frontier and more – will be essentially “showrunning” the books, making sure the tone stays consistent and they dovetail with each other.
More rumors! One series drawn by Andy Kubert, with J. Michael Straczynski, John Higgins, JG Jones, and Dave Gibbons all involved. Whether this is true or not, we probably won’t know for a good long while… And in fact, I don’t necessarily want to comment on these rumors, this is just so you’re up to speed.
However, if DC IS in fact working on a Watchmen 2, yes, there’s a chance it could be extremely bad. But there’s also a chance that, with care, it could be really good.
The first thing I’d put out there is that I’d imagine DC Comics is very, very well aware of the legacy Watchmen holds for not just the comic book reading audience, but the general audience, as well. Watchmen is THE comic book gateway drug. Ninety percent of the time someone tells me they started reading comic books, they mean, “I started reading Watchmen.” Knowing that to be true, there’s no way DC would want to tarnish the memory of the original book in any way, potentially damaging sales in the long run. Viz Media unveiled the cover of their new Shonen Jump Alpha online magazine yesterday, and they are continuing to speed up releases of new volumes of Naruto and Bleach so the digital magazine can be synced with the Japanese releases when it launches in January.
Shonen Jump Alpha, a weekly digital magazine that will replace the monthly print magazine Shonen Jump, will carry six series: Bakuman, Bleach, Naruto, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, One Piece, and Toriko. Chapters of each will be published two weeks after they appear in Japan.
Since Viz's print volumes lag the Japanese releases by a considerable margin, Viz is speeding up the digital releases of two series, Naruto and Bleach, publishing new volumes digitally far ahead of their print releases and, in the case of Bleach, skipping ahead to the current story arc.

I’m embarrassed it took me so long to fall in love with Mouse Guard… But like everybody else who has read David Peterson’s fantasy series, I have, and you will too if you pick up Mouse Guard: The Black Axe #3.
The idea is pretty simple: Mouse Guard is hard fantasy, but with animals instead of humans. And there’s some mysticism, but magic (other than the talking animals thing) is by the wayside, if there at all. Also? Though Peterson constantly creates adorable characters throughout, they are hard-core. Characters die, are maimed, and heartache happens non-stop. Basically, Mouse Guard is Game of Thrones, but with cute little animals.
Black Axe is (I believe) a stand-alone adventure following a member of the Mouse Guard – Celanawe – and his long lost relative Em, as they search for the fabled weapon of the title. Last issue, the duo (along with a very Han Solo-esque boat captain) were washed into the ocean. We pick right up, with Celanawe waking up on the beach of a strange land. Unlike the previous two issues, this time out we’re mostly dealing with talking and emotion, rather than action… But Peterson knows how to amp up the tension in scenes, as well as make you connect with characters who often look like tiny little fuzzballs. So you won’t even notice there’s less swordplay than usual… And don’t worry, there will be plenty more next month. Read more...

Ashley Wood is a one helluva creator and it definitely shows in the designs for his line of World War Robots from ThreeA Toys, based on the IDW comics! The figures produced through the company are more art than action figure, and manage to have a unique feel in an already crowded market. We've been wanting to snag a couple of these for a while, but held off knowing that once the addiction set in for these robotic war machines we'd stay broke from then on! Well, thanks to our local comic shop's distribution of Sideshow Collectibles merchandise, we finally gave into temptation. Today, we're gonna check out the Gerry 1G and Mod 7 1G Armstrongs from ThreeA's WWRP line!
Take a comic book, put it on TV, and the fans go nuts. Take a TV show and adapt it to a comic and… Not so much. Mainly because most of them are shockingly bad. That said? There’s been a few TV to comic book adaptations that don’t just not suck, they’re actually good. Here are ten of the best:
IDW’s recent comics based on the sweaty, dirty HBO vampire series may lack the wall-to-wall nudity, but they make up for it in crazy creatures and buckets of blood. It’s tough to nail the voices of “real” characters, but these comics do it swimmingly… Fake sounding Southern accents and all.

A werewolf and a vampire move into an apartment with a ghost--do the vampire and the werewolf get annoyed when the ghost uses the electricity without paying her share? Season two of SyFy's domestic take on the U.K. import Being Human is starting its second season in January. The premise remains pretty much the same after crossing the Atlantic: an emotionally tortured werewolf (Sam Huntington) at the end of his rope about the whole monthly killing spree thing moves in with a brooding vampire attempting to restore his own ways by going dry (Sam Witwer), and their new place is haunted by a friendly, chatty ghost of a murdered young woman (Meaghan Rath).

A quick note for all would-be interviewers looking to get in a word edgewise with veteran Transformers voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker when you've got them both in the same conversation: give up now and just let these two talk. The men behind Optimus Prime and Megatron have not only worked together for decades on shows outside of Transformers, but are good friends as well, with an easy rapport that you catch almost immediately when they get on the phone. The duo is indispensable to the 25-plus year old franchise, and it would be difficult to image what shape the the two men in their respective roles.
December 6th will see the DVD release of Transformers Prime: Darkness Rising, the Shout! Factory disc collecting the first arc of the new Hasbro-produced CG series on The Hub. Once again pitting the Autobots against the Decepticons in their seemingly eternal struggle, the battle returns to Earth with Megatron planning to escalate the conflict using the "blood" (as much as giant robots can be said to have blood) of ultimate franchise baddie, Unicron.
With the disc on the way next week, we thought we'd chat with Welker and Cullen--or at least let them talk while we listend--about the legacy of their characters, the unique working rapport they've developed over the years, and how innovations in CGI has allowed for more drama in Transformers.

Kids sometimes turn up their nose at packed lunches, favoring more "fun" foods like cafeteria-made pizza vegetables. But any child (or child-at-heart) would definitely not trade these fanciful and quite edible works of geeky art for a candy bar or potato chips:
