New Delhi: Singing legend KJ Yesudas celebrates Golden Jubilee as a singer on Monday. Yesudas has recorded over 50,000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, Tulu, English, Russian and Marathi during a career spanning over 5 decades.

He is known as 'The Celestial Singer'. Yesudas has won several national awards including Padma Bhushan for his unmatched contribution towards art and culture. He is also a renowned classical musician.

New Delhi: Columbian rock musician Cesar Lopez says he is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's ideologies and spreads the message of non-violence through his gun-guitar, a six-string guitar made of of AK-47.

Lopez, 33, who was on his maiden visit to India to attend the Delhi International Arts Festival, feels music has the power to bind the world together.

Guwahati: Massive arrangements are being made in Assam's main city of Guwahati for the funeral rites of music maestro Bhupen Hazarika who passed away in a Mumbai hospital Saturday.

According to plans, a scheduled Jet Airways flight carrying Hazarika's coffin will arrive at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati around 11.30 a.m. Monday.

Mumbai: The country lost one of its music doyens on Saturday as singer-composer Bhupen Hazarika, who wove a magical tapestry out of traditional Assamese music and lyrics, died at a hospital in Mumbai following a prolonged illness.

"It was a multi-organ failure. The end came around 4:30 pm," Jayanta Narayan Saha, in-charge of media relations at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai said.

Melbourne: Australian speedster Brett Lee reveals that he lied to his teammates about his whereabouts when he went to shoot for a song with legendary singer Asha Bhonsle during the 2006 Champions Trophy in India.

The duet with Bhonsle had Lee crooning in Hindi while playing a guitar and was a hit on release. The pacer said he didn't tell his teammates what he was upto when he went to shoot for the song.
