According to an Associated Press report out of Anchorage, lawmakers in Alaska are weighing a proposal to create a glitzy Alaska tourist attraction on the Las Vegas Strip. Why? As a means to draw more visitors to the state.
What's dubbed the "Alaska Adventure Center" would put the state before the 37 million or so people who visit Vegas annually (that's according to 2010 stats from the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority), Anchorage furrier and poker champ Perry Green told the Alaska House special committee on economic development, trade and tourism.
