Fashion's Night Out

Fashion's Night Out

Yigal Azrouel launched his eponymous women’s wear label in 1998. Azrouel defined his aesthetic using high-quality fabrics to drape ultra-feminine, modern silhouettes. He opened his flagship store in February 2003 in New York’s Meatpacking District. The Yigal Azrouel Boutique and his award winning website have both been recognized for their unique vision and innovative design. In July 2004, Yigal Azrouel was inducted into the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America and has remained an active member. The Fall 2007 season elevated the Yigal Azrouel Collection to a new level of status with the debut of the first full Menswear Collection and capsule Accessories Collection. For the Fall 2010 season, the young designer launched a new contemporary brand concept called Cut25 and his first shoe collection during New York Fashion Week at the Women’s and Men’s Spring 2011 shows. Born in Israel of French-Moroccan descent and having traveled to locations metropolitan and remote, Yigal Azrouel draws inspiration from everything and everywhere: art, culture, architecture, nature and his hometown, New York City.

In Partnership

Fashion designers from around the world have partnered with AOL and Saks Fifth Avenue in celebration of Fashion Week and Fashion’s Night Out 2011. On August 25, 2011 Christian Cota gave AOL users exclusive access to an inspiration piece from his Fall 2011 collection as a canvas for AOL.com. On September 1, 2011 Yigal Azrouel previewed his never seen before drawing to AOL users.

Fashion Designer Christian Cota studied painting, a lifelong passion, in Paris before embarking on a career in fashion. After graduating Parsons School of Design in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, he founded his eponymous company in February of 2007. For Spring 2008, Christian’s first collection incorporated the designer’s early influences: the simplistic grace of nature, blending organic forms with clean shapes. Style.com subsequently named Christian Cota one of their “Ten Newcomers to Watch.” In July of 2010, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue named Christian Cota a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist. Christian Cota is a talent on the rise and increasingly recognized among both retailers and celebrities. Notable actresses who have worn Christian Cota include Blake Lively, Carrie Underwood, Elizabeth Banks, Eva Longoria, Eva Mendes, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Tina Fey. Cota attributes his passion for design to his first muses, his mother and his late grandmother. “Their manner of dress and their poise was always an education in elegance. They define the word.”
