Reporter, Specialist
My Role

I write about health issues for the Chicago Tribune’s investigative/consumer watchdog team and look out for the Little Guy.
My Biography

A health reporter for more than two decades, I came to the Tribune in 2007 and joined the paper's investigative/consumer watchdog team in 2009. Interest in health news has exploded since I started on the beat in 1987. It is a complicated, ever changing and endlessly fascinating area of reporting. Previously, I worked for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Chicago Sun-Times, NBC, CBS, City News Bureau of Chicago and American Medical News, covering health issues for physicians.

My Interests

My professional interest is in reporting stories at the intersection of medicine, ethics, psychology, politics, economics and society -- in other words, where the rubber hits the road.
