About Daily Pitch

By Peter Barzilai, USA TODAY
Updated

Welcome to Daily Pitch!

We've created a home for the most passionate fans of baseball, where information, commentary, breaking news and statistical analysis will be bandied about with all the controlled chaos of a pregame infield drill. Our veteran group of reporters and editors will plant the seeds of the site with breaking news, links to hot topics, analysis and commentary. We will rely on fans and observers of the game to provide the passion and push the conversations forward. While we plan on setting the tone for the community, its members ultimately will determine its direction.

Daily Pitch has been designed so that once you enter, it will be difficult to leave. Aside from compelling analysis and impassioned discussion, we will deliver:

  • A morning wake-up call during the season with what you missed the night before;
  • Surveillance from other news media outlets, so you won't miss anything;
  • Easy access to boxscores, statistics, schedules and other daily essentials;
  • Analysis of how the latest news affects your favorite teams and players.

But that's only half of the equation. Feel free to create or participate in a thread on the Forum page, where fans can drive the topics, or rebut a rival — all in an intelligent and respectful fashion, of course. We look forward to your comments, feedback and contributions, all year long.
