Interstate 79 will be restricted to single-lane traffic from just north of the Bridgeville interchange to the Washington County line this weekend, PennDOT announced.

The restriction will be in place in both directions from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday. But in the three-lane section north of Bridgeville, two lanes will be maintained until 9 p.m. Friday.

Also this weekend, PennDOT is warning motorists of long delays and urging them to seek alternate routes as I-79 is reduced to one lane in both directions between Cranberry (Exit 78) and Wexford (Exit 73) from 7 p.m. Friday until about 5 p.m. Saturday. The same restriction will be in effect the following weekend.
